Might be of interest for those wishing to source IR remote for radio
or even swapping out the factory one for one of the BEcker models these guys offer. Also carry VDO guages....<ul><li><a href="http://www.continentalimports.com">http://www.continentalimports.com</a</li></ul>

Jeff....explain please..I am a little lost on what you consider a Blaupunkt..
Surely, either way Panasonic are going to build the head units to what Blaupunkt specify right...and so the IR unit should, in theory work...

In theory, yes, if you are looking for IR control, as for 'Blaupunct'...
The company was known for is quality of headphones, then radios, etc., hence the name. People would ask for the headphones with the 'Blue Dot'= Blaupunct.
This quality and reputation stated in the 30's wit hcrystal set headphones and phonographs.
They had a quality name and reputation in the 60's and 70's, early 80's, for design/build quality and sound quality.
When you contract another company to produce a line of components under your name, that you have no control over the quality, or design, of mfg. process, you have not only lost control, but lost customers.
If I wanted a 'National' or 'Panasonic' I would have bought one. I had no choice in the TT, since Blaupunct decided to contract out this particular model.
Same reason I won't but 'Awia' components, they are the second source company of Sony.
I plan to replace all the audio components in my TTR, with better quality from a reputable mfg.
