June Jinx continues...
So we stop to look out the window at the storm, and in particular, how the wind is blowing the rain sideways, and you could barely see across the street. All of a sudden from the right comes my neighbor with her dogs, running like hell down the sidewalk. When she's about even with the driveway, this huge brach comes crashing down right in front of her, missing her and the dogs by a few scant feet, and lands very close to my car.

Sorry the picture is so grainy, but we have screens on the windows and the camera focused on the plant right outside the window. Two minutes after that, another branch, even larger than the first, falls. When the storm abated I went outside to take this pic.

Well, on first look I thought I had gotten away with nary a scratch, but after I pulled the branches away I noticed a small, quarter-sized dent on the hood, right where it curves down towards the shut line.
The two branches weighed well over 150 pounds each in my estimation from having struggled to lift/drag them, and if either had hit my neighbor or the dogs they might have been killed, or at least seriously hurt. It could have also fallen directly on my car, in which case I'd be worse off than I am.
Yes, let's all say, "Goodbye June, and don't let the door hit you in the *** on your way out!"
At about half way to the car, I look back to see how my girl is keeping up. Just as I look, a large branch (which is similar in size to the one in your pic) falls directly in back of her as she skates past it. I almost S*&T my pants and had a heart attack.
The good thing about storms that are strong is that they usually do not last that long. Just some empathy for you. -Dave
