Default Seriously now, quite a few folks have had the clock reset to July 1998. But...

I don't recall anyone having this happen more than once.

It happened once to our car about 1 month after ownership and then never again. Gremlins be damned!

...again - possible software issue. try to reset the time and see if it stays on. you wont have codes to check with cag-com in address 17 (cluster). still there, replace instrument cluster!

not everybody who drives an TT is here on the board and...there a lot of this faulty clusters out there!

Default There are a number of faulty clusters, but not all that reset are faulty....

sometimes it's just fuse 11 and 15 that need to be properly seated and may have been jarred by hitting a hard pothole.

All who've had this problem have reported resets to July 1, 1998, however, so your problem may be different, but I'd check the fuses anyway by pulling them and reseating them.

(It really is a costly issue to replace the cluster unneccessarily and not all resets are bad clusters. DO YOU WANT TO PAY MORE FOR YOUR NEXT AUDI BECAUSE AUDI REPLACED A $1,000 CLUSTER WHEN IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN A FUSE, SRALPH? I DON'T!)

Good luck.

:-)

Er, perhaps you meant July 1, 1998 or is your reference Euro?
