Seems like there may be some interesting info on the DBW 1.8T's >>>
Well, nonetheless the guys on the Vortec have *STILL* been debating the fact on whether you can use a BOV or must you stick with a DV.
I am learning some interesting things in these discussions. One owner who is currently running a homegrown turbo setup that is pushing 350hp, has a Greddy BOV with no problems. Well everyone wants to know why the engine is not running rich etc....
Well, it turns out that it may be alot easier than you think, Wanna know how to keep your car from running rich with a BOV? unplug the Mass Air Flow sensor. I know it sounds crazy, and yes it will set off a check engine light will appear (apparently it dissappears if you plug it back in)
Our motors (unlike the VAG VR6, V6 and NA 4 cyl's) use a MAP sensor which tells the ECU everything it needs to know; Boost pressure, intake temperature, barometric pressure etc....
I find this very interesting and will be more interested to see what comes of this......
