Default Well, from what I've heard there's a Qauttro Club gettogether out there tomorrow, but....

...But I don't see any info about it on any of the forums. From what I hear, they have a pretty early schedule where they'll get to Manitou Springs and up Pike's Peak pretty early Saturday morning to watch the race. I know they close the road up the mounatin to spectator traffic at 8am, so if you want to actually go up and watch, you have to get there with plenty of time before that. I figured if enough people were going to be at the bottom watching, I would head out there for a little while before heading back towards Indiana, but I wouldn't actually try to go up the mountain. Doesn't sound like anyone from here will be going, so I may just go ahead and skip that trip....Maybe next year.

Default Late info:

Subject: Pikes Peak 2001 & Colorado Springs Gathering

Here are the details for the Audi trek to the Pikes Peak Hillclimb this
Saturday, June 30th. I have not made any plans for a corral or special
restaurant accommodations, so this is merely to facilitate a get together
and good time.

(Frank, Rick - could you forward this on to your respective lists. thanks)

Yes, we have to start early. I'm hoping we can park at Devil's Playground,
which is only a couple miles from the top of the Peak, but to do so we have
to get through the entrance gate early. The schedule I'm proposing should
get us to Devil's Playground by 7am.
No spectator cars will be allowed past the starting point of the race after
8am, and the later you arrive, the less chance you'll be able to get very
far up the mountain.

I will meet up with people from the Denver area just off I-25 in Castle Rock
and then we will meet up with those from Colorado Springs just off US 24 on
the way to Pikes Peak. Afterwards, we will gather at the Dublin House in
Colorado Springs, chosen over spots downtown due to its ample free parking
and great views from its patio (plus it's on the north end of town).

So, if you can't make it to the Hillclimb, it would be great to see you at
the Dublin House. Several, including Javad Shadzi and Jeremy Williams, are
attending from out of town, so let's show them the Colorado Audi spirit!

Info on the Hillclimb is available at
http://www.ppihc.com

Please remember to bring your own food, beverages, sunscreen, etc.
Tickets are $25 at the gate.

Hope to see you at Pikes Peak and/or the Dublin House. Meeting time at
Dublin House is approximate since we can't control when we get down from the
Peak.

Thanks,
Gary Kaklikian
