Sticky gas gauge (and sometimes temp)
3700 miles, built 03/01.
I've read of others with inaccurate gauges, but don't recall seeing this one.
When I start the car the gauges read E(mpty) or C(old). Normally they go up after starting, but after the car has sat a few hours the gas gauge almost always stays at E after starting.
At first I thought it was a sending unit. Then noticed the temp gauge stayed low one day. A tap above them on the dashboard made them jump up to where they were supposed to be. Now tapping the dashboard is getting to be routine.
Any known fix?
Should I wait for the 5000 mile service in maybe 3 months?

Mine does the same thing, but I hesitate to let the animals touch my car for something that fixes
itself daily after a flick or hitting the first bump. Usually when something is fixed, two other things are not right. The less they touch my car, the happier I am.
