Default Floor jack advise - and Eibach Sports are finally on.

I've been using a 3 1/2 ton commercial style floor jack but since I installed the Eibachs, I have to use a second jack to lift the car up a little to fit "big red" under the TT.

And the worst that could happen did last night. Big red releases by turning the handle - but it sticks sometimes. I had the front wheel off and needed to lower the car a bit to set the jackstands and the handle stuck, then all at once it let go and the car lowered leaving the rocker slammed on the jack, the brake rotor 1/4" from the floor. Luckily the damage to the rocker is underneath and out of sight - and also next to a drain hole so I was able to reshape it by using a tool pushed inside the rocker - still not perfect but you wouldn't see it unless I pointed it out.

So my need for advise is for a new low profile jack - sorry no Sear's crap - looking for a decent US made of course for a decent price. Any suggestions?

BTW, I was finally getting around to putting on the Bilstein Sports on the front when the incident happened. Since I already put on the Eibachs last year, the second R&R was much easier but I had to make a new strut spreader tool this time. Test drive was very positive - the Bilstein Sports actually ride smoother that the stock Monroe's. One interesting thing I did notice is that the front is now 1/2" higher than before - front and rear are now equal distance to the wheel arch ar 25 5/8".

Default Just returned a couple of Sears jacks yesterday .....

Damn things are heavy and some don't work (1 year warranty). I'm wondering myself if future spring updates will now necessitate a different jack.

I'll post what I find. The lightweight ones are pricey though.

Default I just went and did some measuring and have an idea.....

If you have some heavy lumber such as 2 x 10. 4 long sections to drive the car onto. Might have to create some type of chocks but may get the car to a workable height for the jack. Mine gives me 1 1/2" clearance at the rocker with the stock springs and not exact but probably an inch between the cup and rubber jack point. That may be my solution and cheaper than a new jack. See lots of RV's on blocks of wood for leveling so may be a solution. I level my van for camping that way.

Default Good idea. I have a pair of low profile Rhino ramps but they're not low enough so

I was thinking of using a 2x10 to make a ramp extension or trying Griot's ramp extensions. I still need a different jack since my release mechanism sticks.
