Considering a nervous breakdown.
Today was to be the day that I drove off in my 01 TTq 225. I had been waiting for itto make the trip from the port in houston all week.
Got a call from the dealer this morning saying that it is here and I can come by any time.
I'm there immediatly of course.
Then I'm told that it will have to be put off until monday because the audi mechs are off on weekends and someone needs to give it a final once over. I atleast got to go to the garage and look at it. It looked perfect.
-dissapointing, but i'm holding it together. I figure that they have loaned me an a4 2.8 to drive in the mean time that i'm sure they would rather have on the lot; they will get my car to me as soon as possible.
I go ahead and sign the paperwork so that the sales guy can count it as july business and go about my day.
I was looking over the paperwork this evening and my heart stopped.
The contract reads for a 180hp tt.
Now I am 90% sure that this was a paperwork error. The person filling out the contract didn't seem to have it together anyway. Besides, we never even talked about the 180. I never drove one, it was never part of the discussion.
But the other 10% of me wants to find the salesman's home address and go knock on his door right now and get this straightend out.
Cuz they wont be open untill monday.
I have the VIN number (TRUWT28N911045744). Is it possible to look up information about a car from the vin?
Any help would be appreciated. Except for telling me that I should have read the paperwork more carefully. I've got that one already.
I didn't sit in it and I don't remember the exhaust, but the wheels were right. The larger, 5 spoke wheels.
But couldn't it have been a 180 with a premium package on it?
RU = Audi
WT28N = Since this stands for the TT that
weighs the most (3,188) and costs
the most ($35,750) and is not
a roadster, I'd bet you a ton
of money...it is the 225Q
9 = check digit
1 = 2001 Model Year
10 = can't figure this out from the chart
45744 = production number
Okay, you can breathe now!

It would have to be an ordered car as I don't think a dealer would order that combo, at least not on purpose.
