Default WAAY OT - sorry to do this but I wanted to share some good news with you guys

I had been looking for a good job for over 7 months and this Monday I start a great job! I will be the new DBA at a new(ish) IT startup with serious $$ behind it. It is more than I could do to keep it quiet. I had been woried about giving up my TT (horror!) and I thought it I might have never been able to get another. But now all is well. There was the small matter of masses of red tape to get through at the INS but after two days of standing in line from 4 am to get in the building early enough to actually meet somebody who would be awake enough to listen.
Anyway...Sorry again to be so OT but I wanted to share with people here.
Getting back to on-topic now: I managed to find a good home for my rear valance. It was replaced when I was rear ended (just before the June curse started) but is in pretty good shape. It will need painting but hey.....

Thanks for listening! I love this place ;-P

Default Thank you. I have a request if you have time

If you are ever close to a landmark in Istanbul (Saint Sofia, Blue Mosque, etc.) with you TT I would love to see a picture. I have often imagined driving mine in my favorite places in the world and you know Istanbul is very very high on my list!

Thanks again,
Mark.

Default Got it. Thank you again. Serious consideration now being given to upgrades.

I want my car to always look totally stock from the outside but I want to hide some goodies under the skin. So far I'm thinking chip (not sure which yet), exhaust and shocks. New brake shoes and/or brakes will come. My brother is going to visit from England and I'll ask him to see what the price of the 'Euro' mirrors is over there. Perhaps I can save some money? Sounds silly to save a few bucks when I'm going to spending in the four figures right?

Default My plan is to let MTT do the rest of the upgrades he has planned for his car (brakes, etc.), and ...

then buy his car when he gets the 'next generation' TT. ;-)

Default That's a great plan ;-)

I was just thinking about that this morning - the STT/TTS. I think I'd keep mine regardless of whether or not they make an 'S'. I love it too much to give it up for a faster cousin. The fear of loosing recently made me realize that I'm happy with as it is. I don't plan on making too many changes and I'll leave any major work until after the warantee has expired (at the rate I'm racking up the miles that should take about another 18 months or so at most). I love your plan though. MTT's car is already very nice and extremely well looked after (at least from the pics I've seen!) so you would be doing very well to take it. What you gonna do with yours then?

Default That's the only problem. I love having the convertible! But I love the lines of the coupe....

Tough choices! ;-)

Default I'd love to do your wish .But I'm far away from Istanbul.....

You know I'm actually an Istanbuler. My whole family lives there but unfortunately I visit Istanbul only once a year by plane ! But If I ever make it to Istanbul with my TT I'll
definetely take the pics. Also this summer if I have an opportunity to be in some other historic places around here in Antalya like Aspendos Antique Theatre etc. I'll take the shots. Also I owe a picture , TT in front of the Hadrianus gate, to TTingables. He is on the waiting list too :-))
So, now let's wait and see if this lazy guy will take the pics. this year. Lol.
Again, your words are very kind of you .
