My wife and kids and I went to an annual picnic held at a local Catholic church yesterday.....
...and when we get there, we run into somebody who my wife has known all her life. So she says to us "go look over there in the parking lot". We're like "why??". She says "just go look and you'll see why." So we walk over beside the announcement booth and here is the white Buick Century with its rear end sticking up at about a 45 degree angle way up in the air. My wife's friend says "ain't that some $hit??" (funny for a Catholic picnic). 
So I walk over and the Century is sitting on top of a blue Chevy Beretta, and I mean on top of it! It turns out that some white-haired old lady was leaving and she put the car in reverse and thought it was in drive. According to people who were there, she just gunned the sucker and next thing you know, both rear wheels are up over the hood, the windshield, and finally resting on the freaking roof of the Beretta!! :-O The Beretta is most certainly totalled but there was nobody in it and everyone is ok. She could have killed someone!
I sure wish I had brought my digi-cam....

Driver's license retests at 55. For those that are 55 or older and are offended by that, please
don't be. Friends and I had a long discussion where we all agreed retesting should occur for the elderly and we decided on 55, even though it's not elderly. Most (by far) 55 year olds have all of their wits and senses about them, but better safe than sorry.

Amen to that, Ivan (and I'm 58). When I renewed my 'driver's' license recently..
it was for EIGHT years! No driving test, and just for grins I took and PASSED the eye test without my glasses. I can ALMOST read this on my 17 in. monitor without glasses/contacts.
Oh well, we did just pass a 'no hand-held cell phones while driving law' here in NY. That's a step forward, IMO.
