VIN numbers explained9 to preven "breakdowns"

T = Country (Hungary)
R = Manufacturer (Audi)
U = Vehicle Type (Passenger Car)
W = Series (TT Coupe Quattro)
T = Engine (4cyl 1.8T 225hp) X = 180hp (!)
6 = Restrain System (A/B explanation / location)
8N = Model (TT)
9 = Check digit (0-9 or X)
1 = Model Year (2001)
1 = Assembly Plant (Gyoer)
045744 = Sequential Serial Number

Too bad there is not a designation for the diverter valve.

Instead of who is right and who is wrong, perhaps Forum Memebers can

just compare their VIN numbers against both of our posts and we can figure out which is correct. That would be the way to do it. Pretty easy to see if the letters for Coupe and Roadster are correct.
