Not a TT, but a pic is worth loads of advice as more look to track events...

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/4128/smash_m3.jpg"></center><p>this happened at Summit Point at a Friday Afternoon at the Track (FATT)(6/22) event...member of QCUSA posted it. Occurred on turn three and this little 2-3-4 turn setup gets many of driver...I being one when I had a partial off track happening...posted about a month ago a praised the Q system for saving my butt. This was an M3 and speaks alot about the dangers of driving high performance street cars on the track...don't know driver's skill but it can happen to anyone.
ANYONE thinking about doing a track event with your TT...listen to the instructors, DON'T drive to your limit (none of us were born race car drivers)but rather within a comfort zone under your limit, and lastly respect the laws of physics...you will not win trying to beat them.

Wow! Pretty scary stuff. Makes a good point about roll-overs and harnesses too. Meaning, you really shouldn't have a harness without a roll bar or cage. Had that driver been wearing a harness they'd probably have a nicely broken neck.

Did the driver make it? Looking at the roof-line penetration, I can't imagine that he (or she) did.

As someone who had an off asphalt event and learned from it, listen to MTT and the pic.

Agreed. Leave your ego at home when you do a track event. Lucky no other cars were involved.

When I was at Curry's getting my APR chip, the sales guy told me about this wreck. He had just come from the track. He said that there were two people in the car and both people survived unscathed, just scared.

Michael were you there. I have a colleague that was there with his Boxster and he has a pic of ...

an Amulett Coupe. I totally forgot to post it on here. He saw the crash and this BMW M3 as well. There's a post about it on the performance forum as well. He was shocked to see how the whole roof caved in. Shame cause it was a pretty new M3. Let me know if you want me to get the pic from him, that is if it was you on the race track.
