cd player track times ?

cd player track times ?
so i am still adjusting to having a new car, eight days with the TT, and boy oh boy people keep pointing at the car and smiling =)
have noticed that the cd player does not ever show you track time, i.e. how far into the song you are. is there no way to get the head unit to tell me this?
it is so good for timing how long certain traffic lights take to change, so you can fly through them the next time
