Question for the experts, please...

Hi, All,

We are having a water softener system installed today. I know there is going to be more sodium in the water and wonder if there is any cause for concern regarding washing the car with it.

BTW, I did do a search of the archives and found nothing.

Any plumber worth their weight in plugged-up toilets would make sure that your garden hose...

...water was taken from the water source BEFORE the water softener. What will the salt do to your lawn if they didn't?????

It's not always that easy or straight forward.......

A lot depends on how your house is plumbed, the incoming service may or may not branch off to the outside hose bib before it hits the water softener. The lawn may very well get "softened" water, it will not harm the grass.
By the way I just went downstairs and confirmed with Code Enforcement that the above is accurate.
