Default CHIPS CHIPS CHIPS

I am considering installing a chip, could anyone tell me;

1. WHICH ONE IS THE "BEST"? Why?
2. Would YOU use it? / do you have it?
3. Can it be 100% concealed from the dealership when I bring it in
for service?
4. How much damage does it do to your engine?
5. Is it worth it?

1. Everyone will tell you the one they have is the best.
2. ABT great power from 2800 to 6500.
3. I have the ABT
4. None of them can be 100% concealed if the dealer opens the ECU. Buy the extra ECU with a chip that's 100% concealed
5. It's worth it. One can only guess if any of the chips will damage the engine. Not enough time in cars to determine

Does the chip improve the "low end" initial acceleration that the tt's suffer from? Also, how much does it cost generally?

Default Since I initially gave you a smart-a$$ answer....

I have the APR, and it will boost the low end also, but it seems you either have to wait for the initial turbo-lag, which is present before you chip, or slip the clutch a bit to bring it full on-line.
If you wait for the inherent turbo lag, you will get a rocket-start from a 'chip', second gear comes very fast.
If you slip the clutch a bit you will smooth out that start, but it will come on very fast, the fastest start I have done is this method, thou I don't advise this very often, for obvious reasons.

The chip prices vary from like $300 to $600 +, something like $1400 with a spare ECU.

I would have to say from idle to 2500 rpm the car feels stock but after that you will feel the increased boost. I can't say if any other chips improve below that rpm range. but I am happy with my purchase (ECU + chip) $1400. German chips (MTM & ABT) are $695. American chips (Garrett, APR, ETC) are cheaper around $500

Default No change below 2200 rpm.

ECU controls damage based on engine knock (needs to hear knock before correction can be made) and exhaust temperature. Under high power, exhaust temperature could exceed 1000°C. Controller adds more fuel (richer than stoichiometric) to maintain temperature at 980°C.
