Default N Valve installed today. Boost has returned!!!!!!!!!!

It is amazing how much of a difference that little piece of plastic can make. I was totally shocked at how much performance I had actually lost over the 6000 miles I have had the car. That thing must have been bad for a while because in hindsight the car really has been driving like crap for the past 2000+ miles......

I guess I need to bite the bullet and order a forge valve.....

Default I find these lack of boost arguments somewhat specious...

Unless the reason you knew you had a bad DV was a "Check Engine" light.

Boost is asked for by the ECU at a certain pressure. If the boost requested is not delivered within a set range (I'm unsure of the amount) of that requested, a fault code is written and, if enough accumulate, the ECU will light the Check Engine light...

I had a completely stuck valve(took it out and it was clearly stuck) in for about 20 minutes with no codes when I was out at AWE(Very helpfull guys) last week. How long do you think it takes for the codes to appear. I have also taken the vacuum line off of the top for 5 Minutes at idle with no codes.

Default How about "No Power". That is a pretty telling sign......

All I have to say is before I took the car in this morning there was a definate loss of power between sifts and the turbo was taking a lot of time to spool up even cruising at 3k. Now with the new valve the car is like new, the linear acceleration is back, no choking between shifts....

The car was tested by the technician and that was his diagnosis as well so how do you explain that?????

Default Codes will appear if the DV is preventing the engine from receivng boost

If the ECU asks for 4 PSI of boost and 4 PSI of boost doesn't show up, it will generate an "underboost" fault code.

You can drive around or idle with a stuck DV all day, until you hit the gas in a manner that would normally produce lots of boost and none is to be had...

Default That's different than "no boost"...

FWIW, the DV was bad but you were still getting boost eventually (sounds like it was stuck partially open.)

If you were truly getting none, or if the turbo never provided the boost the ECU asked for, you would have had your "Check Engine" light turn on...

Thats strange. Mine did not show any codes when driving with a wide open valve. The reason I even knew about it was from the logging I was doing on block 115. I was getting perhaps 1/3 of the requested boost. Should I be concerned that the codes did not show up?

Default OK, Fine, "No Power" due to "No Boost" when it was needed...

During throttle on/off situations(i.e., acceleration)

In this scenario "No Boost" and "No Power" might as well be the same thing.......
