Well, TT's been in the shop for a week and a half, and I thought I'd get it back today. But...
They found a major crack in the transmission case. I guess this is the bell housing where the tranny bolts to the engine.
They're checking on the status of that part now, but bottom line is that I'll be driving the Le Sabre for a while longer :-(
Also, be careful about those high rpm launches, as they may contribute to clutch failure which can be very expensive if the car's out of warranty. Were that the case, I'd be looking at a repair bill of around $3,000 (parts & labor).

Won't that fine American car cure the tendency for high-rev launches?
On a LeSabre, that just makes more noise, doesn't it?
My memory of driving the parental units' wheezemobile last fall are (thankfully) fading, but it did get us from point A to point B. Beyond that, it made driving a lot like watching Sunday morning TV: a good opportunity for a nap.

My TT has been in for about the same time. They're replacing the whole trans(at least thats what they told me today). They'll get it in tomorrow, hopefully installed by tomorrow evening...so im prb stuck driving the rental for the rest of the wk
