The Tweeter Saga (Part 2): Easier than I thought (maybe)
The mobile manager tells me the two "cracks" in my rear windows are merely scratches in the tint that feel like cracks. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt because in all likelihood he may be right.
He agreed to pay to have the rear window re-tinted at Tweeter's expense, no questions asked.
I just hope he's right. I want to see what the glass looks like when the pull the old tint off. I can't imagine it being possible to scratch and pull at the tint that hard without doing any damage to the glass.
Dealership tells me a brand new top runs about $1300 - much cheaper than I anticipated. Either way they're picking up the tab if it comes down to it.

I had a feeling Tweeter would agree to get it fixed. Most chains don't want their name tarnished.
I hope it is just the tint.
However, I bet the $1300 dealer price didn't include installation!

Well the one thing I thought about earlier is that if it were the...
front windshield, that indeed it could crack, but it is damn near impossible to *crack* a side or rear window because they are tempered (break into tiny, unsharp pieces) and the front is safety glass (a layer of plastic that is sandwiched between to layers of glass
