Default For the car stereo crowd...well there is a first for everything....

I installed the 6 disc CD changer into the SL32 yesterday. The stereo system is fiber optic connected..pretty funky to be plugging in components with small 'plastic tubes' and not copper wiring.

Less weight & eliminates a source of ground-loops, I just hope they didn't use Toslink connectors.

Default I was just kidding. Toslink connectors were developed by Toshiba as a cheap fiber-optic

connector, used mostly in audio applications. They made poor connections, get loose quickly, etc.

The much better (and more expensive) alternative was ST-type connectors, which use a bayonet-type mount (similar to a BNC connector).

I'm sure for automotive applications MB uses a shielded, water-resistant connector for their fiber optic stuff.
