Video Capture Help!
I am not going to go out and buy a hi-8 or digital video cam for this specially, so I am working with a laptop and logitech webcam.
Basically I need info on some nice capture software (would LOVE video AND sound at the same time). Then I need compression info (quicktime or realplayer or windows media)... I don't care which format, just nice quality for the $$ and that will drop my file size down from my 500 Mb avi files (at least that is what I get from WebCam32's AVI capture).
In WebCam32 I have the option of the encoding technique for the AVI that it writes, I have no idea what to choose.. so if the program you reccomend needs the same options, please tell me what you reccomend.
I have some sample videos from WebCam32 from this morning. They came out ok with the webcam pinned between the headrest and the top of the seat on the passenger's side. I am going to try to make a special harness for it that will hang from the passenger's sun visor out of a metal hanger. That should give a better view as the position I had it in was too far back and too low of a perspective (I could only see tops of cars that were close).
HELP!! (Oh, the first drive that I want to do this on is tomorrow.. so instant results!)
If you want to just save your AVIs straight from WebCam32, get the DivX codec. It will compress the video pretty well, and give you a nice quality video at a decent filesize. You can find the DivX codec at www.divx.com If anyone wants to watch a video that you encode with DivX, they will have to have the DivX codec loaded on their computer.
Only problem is that is seems like most people can't see the video (WMP says it can't download the codec). Any help on this?
