My date with court or Why didn't Joel fly out here?
So the fact of this little matter are I was speeding 75 in a 55. I was in the left lane (of 3) exposed I sped up to get into a gap in traffic to the right (80mph). Zoom.. officer on my tail.
He showed in court (he had 2 DUI's to testify at today), unlike the cop for the 2 driving with suspened licence cases ....
He couldn't recall anything other than what was on the ticket. He could not discribe the car. He said that it was only me in the car. I had a friend with me. He didn't know how long he had paced me. There was no proof that the spedo was calibrated.
I tried to get the statement about the spedo thrown out as there was no proof, but no go .... I made the cop look like he know nothing, but not good enough I guess.
I'll be better next time. Having the practive now, I'd have pressed more on the fact that all the cop knew was what is on the ticket .... and maybe joel will come visit Chicago that day
Oh well. $95 and traffic school, no conviction. Cheeper than mailing it in ....
