New guy in the neighborhood...longish
It took 14 months from seeing the TT to getting one in the driveway. Late at night, I would go to the dealer so much they would leave a rag and Windex for me to clean my nose prints off of the showroom windows. I had to have one. Persistence and focus have paid off and I could not be happier.
I've been reading the Forum for awhile and quite frankly, I'm frightened. I have theoretically modded, lowered and chipped my family into homelessness. It is a just cause, I know. I have even threatened to rename my kids Borla and Bilstein. And no, my wife has not driven it(283 days.. still dingless, too).
Well, Architectt and Georgia TTech have my alma mater (undergrad) and chosen career covered (Go Jackets - To hell with Georgia!)so mottown seemed to fit for Detroit (aka A$$bag Central).
Responding a thread long ago regarding favorite restaurants(prepare for shameless plug for brother-in-law's establishment), all you Chi-town TTers should try Oceanique in Evanston (505 Main St., Chef de cuisine/Entrepenuer Mark Grosz. French-American cuisine with an extaordinary wine list and excusite desserts, listed as one of Chcago's 60 best restaurants. Call for a reservation, go early and get fresh handmade Belgian chocolates at Pirons belgian chocolatier (509 Main), plus a great drive up Lakeshore in the ultimate car!
Cubbster, it was my wife that bid maniacally for the TT story book, it was for my 40th birthday.

Hope to meet some you soon,
