Winter Tire Time

I have the "damaged" original wheels from my car and I'd like to put some snow type tires on them. Am I better off going with something like a Dunlop Sport 5000 which is a reasonable M&S tire or should I go all snow? I guess my question is how much tire performance am I giving up with a "snow tire"?

I used Dunlop Wintersport M2s (OEM 17s) last season and noticed only slight issues...

With the exception of very aggressive or high speed (110+) driving, there was no difference at all. I tended to enter some turms a little slower - but only a little. Exits were almost identical. They were also a bit quiter than the 040s which was a surprise.

I decided on them over other "winters" primamrily because other owners felt that their performance was similar to Summer tires.

All snow worked for me. Pirelli 210 Winter....LOL, actually think I like them better than

my Blowtenzas. Gina had them up to 120 on the way to FW and liked them.

i have wintersport m2's also but 16"

and they were great. driving in wintery conditions was a nightmare before.

How much snow will you get determines the type of tire, IMHO, not performance in the snow.

While the link is valid, it's a bit stale. I have a brochure coming on the tires. They have

a 225/45 snow/ice tire, H rated, for about $90.
