I met Rahul (rTTexas) last night in Houston (I had met Warp TTen a couple of months back but we never really got the chance to talk - if you're here drop me a line and we'll do something about that).

I have to say that the meeting lived up to my expectations. In attendance were Rahul, Julie, Rozina and me. Rozina is my wife for those who don't know. Rahul is a funny guy. Julie drives a 225TTR (silver/AG) but does not spend any time on the forum :-( She was also very nice and perhaps we can turn her to the dark side soon! I just HAD to take Rozina because I wanted her see for herself that I'm not even close to being the only nuTTer out there. I think, as Rahul said, that he and I are both fairly mild in our obsession (compared to some of the crazies on this forum :-D) but she could at least see that I'm not alone.

Anyway, the meeting confirmed to me that there really is something about this car that bring people together. We had a few drinks and talked till almost midnight. Many have said on this forum how much they have enjoyed the gatherings. I was upset to have missed FH2O and Bracketfest (funny pics and pie stories btw!) and it looks like I'm going to miss TT-West too. So, Ashville it is.

I really look forward to meeting more of you soon.

After meeting a bunch of folks in Chicago one night, my girlfriend tells everyone that I'm really not all that bad. She refers to a certain someone from here who pulled the floor mats out of 2 cars (one stock, one with Stratmosphere floor mats) to point out the size difference. I shoudl scan that picture in one of these days. She still thinks that's the funniest thing ever. I wonder if the person who did that still remembers it.

 

It was a pleasure to meet you and Rozina, last night. A lovely evening! We must make plans for something more elaborate, the next time I'm in town.

Julie is now convinced that the "forum wackos" aren't so bad, afterall... I guess we fooled her: The proverbial wool over the eyes bit... heh, heh... ;-)

I'm pretty sure she's committed to Asheville (sp?), and I'm 100%. I look forward to that and other future TT gatherings. There really is something about the car...
