another winter driving question...
of those of you who put snows on your tts and drive them, are you in places where the roads are salted. in vermont, the day of a storm is great--just snow on the roads. but after that, the salt use is amazing. my hesitation about using my tt in the winter comes from potential salt mess and damage. am i alone in this? thanks much

Here in Canada, my car gets coated in salt frequently in winter
I try to at least spray off the salt once a week, depending on how cold it is. It's the only time of year I will subject my poor TT to an automatic touchless wash. If only I had a large heated garage.
From about Mid-January to Mid-February, I just leave it. Luckily, it only snows when it's relatively warm, so it actually stays pretty clean on the coldest days.

jeff do you do anything special to the paint...(more)
before winter? and where do you wash it? drive-through, pull-along or spray it yourself? what i am really getting at, what is the best way to get all of the crap off of the parts you cannot see?

That's pretty much what I did this winter.
I sprayed it off a couple of times when the temps got above freezing, but that's it. It's really a losing battle to keep it looking clean during the winter without a heated garage.

The painted surfaces aren't the concern
It's the undercarriage, the wheel wells, and places where the salt can collect and work its way into body panels. The car doesn't need to be "cleaned" per se, but you need to pressure-wash the whole underside of the car (& wheel wells) as often as you can. If it still looks dirty on the outside, oh well.
