Default Saved my TT today.... but what a Bone head I am!

Today at lunch I am running late but I need to stop at home and pick up a check. Its a nice day so I decide to get my bike on the car then I start driving away only to realize I forgot what I came there for in the first place. So I turn around and drive back quickly I jump out of the car leaving it running and run back in. As I walk back through the garage I see my TT rolling back down my STEEP driveway, hummm thats odd.
OH SH---T, I bolt through the garage door and race faster than I ever have before to the open drivers door. The car is really picking up steam now on a 8% slope. I know I need to get it stopped soon. At the end of the driveway is a 10' cliff into a river and the driveway is lined on either side with 4' high stone walls. Disregarding my safety I sort of get halfway in as the car drags me with it. I grab the emergency brake and pull for ALL I am worth. At this point it is halfway down the driveway heading for the stone walls on the side. Its not slowing down much so I pull harder, finally it runs over or hits something and stops. It took me a few minutes to stop shaking enough to look for damage.
But the TT gods were with me as it stopped 2 inches from the stone walls. The only thing damaged was me, but the TT made it through without a scratch and I'll live.

NOTE TO SELF: Use the damn E brake next time, duh!

Default too familiar

Couple weeks ago, a woman in the office parked her brand new car w/o setting the brake, or car in gear.. shortly after she came into the building a company wide email goes out about a car rolling thru the parking lot. Oops - car rolled backwards out of it's space all the way across the lot, and backed *ss end into a Toyota truck and then rolled forward into the center of the lot. Rear of the car was trashed nicely - bumper cover, trunk lid... bonehead move of the day...

Be careful out there!

Default I did a similar thing when I was about 17...

...left my '56 VW Bug idling while I ran to get the remote for the security gate out of my (then) girlfriend's car, turned around...whoa, rolling down the hill! I ran after it, got the door open, grabbed the steering wheel, and somehow slipped and fell (the car was moving pretty quickly at that point). Anyway, it rolled down the hill, onto the sidewalk, sheared off a fire hydrant (not charged, thank god), continued back onto the street and slammed into the security gate at the entrance to my gf's parent's development. Fortunately, no one was hurt (except for me and my pride), but the front end of the car was banged up pretty badly....was in nearly mint condition too :-(

BTW, I ended up marrying the girlfriend and we're still together...
