OT: Some people, man...
I'm sitting in my apartment watching television at around 11:15pm this evening, and I hear a lot of talking and laughing outside. I didn't think much of it until it kept on and on and got more boistrous.
Finally, it started to get on my nerves as it was a lot of carrying on. I didn't recognize the voices as my neighbors and there was a lot of cursing. So, I opened my front door to see what was going on.
Sitting on the property were 4-5 guys in their late teens/early twenties who were not neighbors, boozing it up. They got up fast when they heard my door open and saw me standing there with hand on hip. They hot-tailed it across the street, laughing and snickering. One of them was carrying a grocery bag and right in front of me stuffed in it the bushes across the street. I also noticed that there was an indentical bag on my property. The others thought their bush littering friend was just so clever, and laughed at him and then looked over at their shoulders at me. I watched them walk toward Santa Monica Blvd and round the corner to the night clubs.
Well, let's just say that blantant disrespect, (these are just the type of people who key cars or door ding you and don't leave a note) PISSED ME OFF.
I walked down and picked up bag number one. Then walked across the street and picked up bag #2. Both were full of empty beer bottles. I then, with bags in hand walked toward the nightclubs. As I rounded the corner to Santa Monica Blvd. I saw the culprits standing outside the club in front of RAGE. I walked up to the group and inserted myself into their circle and said, "Were you just in my neighborhood? I think you forgot something in front of my house. This is yours isn't it?" I held up the bags. All of them were speechless and looked at each other wide-eyed. The sure-footed cockiness had left their faces.
I then said, "Well, here's your trash back because I sure can't use it," then dropped both bags at their feet with a loud clink and walked off. The "boys" never said a thing to me and just looked at each other in bewilderment as I rounded the corner.
A homeless teen who saw the whole thing said that I must be Italian and applauded me for the feat.
