SUV follows TT 'round a wet freeway exit. What do you think happened?
It was raining hard here this morning (Minneapolis), after many weeks of little rain. I was out about 9AM, visiting a client. The rain had tapered off, but it was still coming down. I noticed a Chevy Blazer-type following me. sout-bound, hugging my rear. I took a freeway exit at what I considered to be a normal speed. He followed me, still somewhat close, but loosing some distance. He had big tires on also. From a corner of my eye, in the rear view, I saw a fish-tail, then a recovery, then more fish tail, then side-ways, then braking, over the banking, down into the grass.
The banking and the grass area was steep, I saw him keep going. I pulled over, not completly around the curve, and watched him fish-tail more in the wet grass.
I thouhgt he might flip over, but he kept going, and didn't stop. He managed to get stuck in a corner, where the grass ended, and another road started. The angle was too great for him to get out, but he tried, spinning those huge tires, with mud and grass flying everywhere.
I just laughed, and walked back to my car, and called the highway patrol.
Moral: Don't think you can keep up with a nimble, quattro, road hugging car, just with an average SUV type.
Not long after that, I have the whole family in the A6Q Avant and two ******* in a huge GM something or another go whizzing by me in the rain to beat me to the exit ramp. hehehaha He gets half way around, fishes one way, then the next, over the curb, into the grass...stuck fast. I thought my boys were going to go hysterical laughing. We saluted as we breezed by! Go Quattro!!
