larry and other car audio mavens...what do you think of dynamat?
does it really deaden outside road noise and reduce vibrations? is it worth it? and even if it does what it's supposed to do, does it add too much weight to the tt?

Yes good product,
However the trade off for reduced road noise and vibration is cost and weight....As you have probably notice the TT is'nt too shabby in regards to cabin noise, even for the roadster.
The stuff also has an odour for the first few days of install, and if paying someone to install it can get rather costly.

Go here for same stuff...1/4 the price!
I have bought this stuff and used it extensively in my Miata (cheap tinny car!). This generic stuff is identical to the Dynamat branded product for a whole lot less........<ul><li><a href="http://www.partsexpress.com/webpage.cfm?&DID=7&WebPage_ID=3">Parts express</a></li></ul>

Stuff works amazingly well . . . though it is not needed in the TT . ..
It adds LOTS of dead weight. Unless you are going for that final oomph of sound quality or trying to get a bass note just a little deeper, it is not required in a TT. They are already built very solid.
