No wax!!! In fact, you'll be using a cleaner to remove ALL wax from the applicable areas before..
....you lay down the film. The area must be perfectly clean or you will get bumps. I did this on my car and it turned out pretty darned nice, but it's an all-day job if you're doing the whole kit. Especially if you're a novice (like I WAS).

Don't use this as the primary solution, though, but rather as the...
...tacking solution around the edges. Some professional installers are able to use this for the entire job, but it evaprorates VERY fast and results in the glue backing sticking down like crazy. You will want to use a soapy solution instead. The Invinca-Shield kits include a concentrate for this. This allows you to move the film around for a while before it seals down.

Get someone to help you with the large pieces which go across the top and hood and nose of the car, for the pieces are very difficult to handle by only yourself. The film will stick to each other very quickly and not help away from each other. Keep plenty of concentrate sprayed on both the car and the film at all times while applying and as stated above, have someone hold the end that you are not working on. Start with the smaller pieces and the larger pieces will be much easier to apply once you have the process down pat.

I didn't find this was necessary. Assuming you're using the soapy solution vs. alcohol, I found...
...I could easily work the longest pieces by myself. I found it easiest to do a preliminary tack of the long pieces along their length regardless of final positioning, and then work from one end to the other doing the actual placement. It worked very well and I never required help.
