Who else thinks there will be more than one Cabinet member off-site tonight?

You probably know that every time the President addresses Congress, one Cabinet member remains behind in the event of a catostrophic event at the Capitol. Considering the current state of affiars and the reasons which have caused Mr. Bush to give this address, I wouldn't be surprised to see a few extra empty seats.

I certainly wouldn't want to be the poor student pilot in a Cesna w/in 10 miles of CD tonight!

I heard that Cheny has been "hidden" away for tonight. And remember that book by Tom Clancy?

Not only do I remember it, the paralells are amazing

There were 2 planes used in that novel - the last crashed into the Capitol. 2 planes into the WTC. 2 planes into DC (1 thwarted).

There was also a biological attack in that or another Clancy book. We arrested a suspected collaborator today near Chicago who holds a valid hazmat transportation license. The FBI has also made an unusual announcement regarding the real possibility of additional attacks based upon the extraordinary number and credibility of recent threats.

What kind of attacks? That Hazmat license didn't make me terribly comfortable.

Sorry that I rambled on... I've had an outrageous day at work (not worth going into now).

Speaking of which...the last chapter in the "Turner Diaries"

Also has the lead charcter crashing a light aircraft carrying a bomb into the pentagon....
Could it be this book has been another inspiration??

We sent the wrong message by not having Cheney behind Bush though. What does

it say about us? Are we that weak and vulnerable that we cannot protect even one building? If so, that's probably the scariest thing of all. If we cannot guarantee the safety of one building, how can we be the world's policeman?

How can Bush hope to restore public confidence when the Vice-President is hidden away somewhere?

Despite not having voted for Bush and not generally liking him, I have found him to be good so far during this crisis, and he has my support, but Cheney should have been behind him tonight, IMO.
