Default Has Anyone Seen this? This is so stupid, major radio station owner pulling 'questionable' songs

Get this. Questionable lyrics songs include 'Imagine' by John Lenno, 'Bridge over Troubled Waters' by Simon and Garfunkle, and my favorite, 'Wonderful World' by Louis Armstrong.

What the ****? Are we so god damn sensative that we can't listen to music now? We gonna riot after hearing a song about John Lennon singing about peace?????

WTF???<ul><li><a href="http://www.channel2000.com/sh/entertainment/stories/entertainment-96409320010918-100959.html">Clearwater Communications 2000</a></li></ul>

Default This is the primary reason why I do not listen to commercial radio, it all SUCKS!

Pardon my language, but it really does. The *only* FM radio station I listen to is a local listener supported "free form" (ie: open format!) college radio station: WNTI - it is the BEST! I send them $50 every year during their annual fund drive. I love 'em!

PS - my brother and I also donated our time and resources to build their real time play list. <ul><li><a href="http://www.wnti.org/homepage/index.html">WNTI 91.9 - Free Form World Wide Radio</a></li></ul>

Default Just one aspect...

This is happening in every instance of the media right now; TV
networks are censoring shows with "terror" content, movies are
being edited, if not delayed indefinitely (The new Ah-nold terror
bombing and vengeance flick "Collateral Damage" was quickly
shelved), and advertisers are very carefully controlling when and
where their messages appear (Coca-Cola pulled ALL ads as soon
as the tragedy hit, as last week, Coke just wasn't "it"). Some rock
and hip-hop bands are editing upcoming CD artwork... everyone
is playing it very "safe".

Perhaps this is all for our own "good" but you have to ask, given
what the world just saw, what horror could we possibly imagine in
our minds that we need protection from at this point? How much
of a retreat will we make?

Default Yup - most commercial stations suck, in fact I haven't heard a good station since KCPR in

SLO California. Burnt Dog radio! Listened to it in Grad School at Cal Poly SLO. Always regret not applying for a host job doing a show - schedule was too busy though.

Default Gets better, apparently...

I'm just reading now that apparently at least some
Staples stores are pulling copies of the video games
Counterstrike, Halflife, Rogue Spear, Red Alert 2, SWAT
2/3, and (you guessed it) all versions of Microsoft Flight
Simulator from their shelves.

Apparently we also need protection against bad games.

Default Try KPIG on the web too.

Great radio, great humor (nothing approaching schlock jocks) and best of all, they play whatever the hell they want to play.<ul><li><a href="http://www.kpig.com">KPIG</a></li></ul>
