Paging TT Online Mechanics: Need noise dianognistic help
Since swapping out my break pads and bilstein/eibachs i have noticed a clunking sound from the left front area. It sounds like a lose cable is swaying back and forth and hitting something. First i thought it was the brake pad sensor but i have tied it down and still the sound persists. One wild *** idea is that it sounds like the bilsteins or eibachs are compressing. I can't seem to find a cable and am stumped, so I figured I would ask for ideas on things to check.

It seems most obvious when driving and going over bumps or rough roads, but...
on smoother roads more when turning the wheel. It does not seem noticeable through the steering wheel or through the shifter or when shifting. At times you would swear it sounds like a really quiet, muffled backfire, but its not coming from the back of the car, its coming from front drivers side.

Running out of ideas Todd, without actually being there to hear. Sort of eliminated any drivetrain problems. One last guess. Are your diverter valve hoses connected? Other than that I can't think of anyhting else.
