Default Paul (TTinGables): Update on cookbook status, please...

Have more to contribute, but will have to work on them this weekend... Since I don't have anything written down, I find myself visualizing the steps I would take to make a dish... more time consumming than I thought, and I'm always hungry, when done!

Need any help with anything?

Default OK... here you are:

Last night, I organized the recipes under several broad categories, the number next to each category is the number of recipes we have:

Meat - 8
Fish/Seafood - 4
Fowl - 5
Pasta & Rice - 8
Snacks/Miscellaneous - 13
Desserts - 7
Drinks - 2

These do not include what I received today (another 7-8), and do not include my eventual contributions. So, there is plenty of room to add more. It would be nice to have about 15 recipes for each category, except drinks, since those take up less room on a page.

I also have the layouts ready for each page, as the book's chapters/sections will be the same as above. I am planning on 1 landscape page per recipe, ingredients on the left, directions on the right, with the title of the dish and comments from the author of the recipe, if they included such with their recipes. The persons real name will appear with their forum name in parentheses, unless their forum name and real name are the same, i.e., Brad Willis - unless of course Brad's real name is something like SoCalSglTTGuy :-).

Some additional information about the categories. Meat includes pork, venison, etc. If someone submits meat lasagna, for example, that will go under pasta, not meat. Also, some people submitted things that would be construed as side-dishes, and they go under miscellaneous, if the dish could go with many things.

However, in the case of a dish which has an intrinsic accompaniment that would not normally stand alone, like a stuffed bird for example, the stuffing recipe stays with the recipe for the bird.

Again, I would love to have photos of those who contributed, and I will place them all on one page at the beginning. If you have a photo on SuiTTman's site, and you would like me to use that, let me know.

How's that for an update?
