I'm a bit miffed at "TheRaceStore", but...
What would you do?
Sunday nite, I ordered a pair of their Zimmermann Cross-Drilled rotors, and paid for the 3 day UPS shipping.
I wanted to get them on the car, install my new Porterfield pads, and bed them in before Saturday, an "Audi/TT" event day here.
After not getting a reply, I called Ralf on Tuesday.
He professes that he is super-busy, but they "went out" and that he will send me the UPS tracking info.
After cooling my jets here today, and watching the UPS truck drive by a few times. I sent him a note.
Result: the rotors didn't go out. They may leave his place *next* Tuesday.
his note;
"hello jeffrey,
i need to apologize. it is so bussy and we try terrible to find more
experienced help. sorry about this.
jeffrey, the rotors won't leave here before tuesday. i don't know what to
say, but our delivery is late again. air canada (our carrier) is nstill
catching up.
try to figure out a way to do something special for you because of the
delay. let me know if you have any suggestions.
everything else we have in stock!
ralf"
I'm trying to be cool here. I will miss the event this weekend, and it's not like I'm in dire straits, needing the rotors.
(My front OEM's are warped at 20K miles, with EBC pads in use since 400 miles on the car.)
He's sending me a set of the 'Audi rings' for my calipers.
I'm OK with this, but still a bit miffed that he told me they were sent, when they were not.
How would you all deal with this?
I know times are tough, but customer service *has* to be top-notch these days.
Bummed, drinking a few glasses of Merlot.
I can't even imagine the shipping problems that small specialist companies are having to deal with right now.
