Default response to the earlier "TheRaceStore" message - apologize

first of all, i would like to apologize for any delay this week!

the delay was caused by a stupid mistake.

we have weekly stock delivery through air canada and continental airlines. our last shipment was supposed to be in cleveland custom on 9-30-2001.
part of this shipment was/is an engine.

air canada lost a document stating the engine doesn't contain any fluids and can be therefor transported safley. because the document was missing, air canada denied transportation and informed the shipping broker on tuesday. of course, we had already complaint because our shipment did not show up.

anyway, the engine was listed on the airway bill with all other parts, so air canada could not ship at least them.

by the time we got a response from frankfurts air canada warehouse about the reason, it was already tuesday and to late. the tuesday plane had already left and air canadas office in frankfurt was closed.

on wednesday 10-3-2001, germany celebrated "day of national reunion", everything was closed. air canada custom warehouse in frankfurt worked, but nobody checked the fax in the office.

however, the freight was booked again on a plane, documentation is completed, and we should have very soon all missing parts in stock.

we don't like this either. rotors and cda are very fast moving items.

anybody who doesn't want to wait anymore should drop an email for immidiate refund on his credit card. we work honestly and fair. deleted shipments are send out always "overnight".

i saw questions about "my" age (btw, i'm 36 and a grown man), comments like "be happy if it shows up at all" (?????), a customer who tells me in an email "disturbing news about TheRaceStore" on Audiworld etc. etc. etc.

all i can say is that we are sorry about the delay and we make it up - somehow!

Default AoA should take a lesson from this thread....

Ralf did not need to post the detail but he did, it seems like his buisness is doing well, but still wanted to make a sincere apology to those affected by the delay. Can't say the same for other vendors.

I know that it is frustrating to not receive an item at the promised time, but Ralf seems to be making up for it by offering something. I doubt Air Canada is doing the same for him.

When I'm ready to buy my rotors, I'm calling you Ralf.

"be happy if it shows up at all" was about air Canada, not the race store

I recently bought a CDA box from the Race Store, and Ralf was courteous and professional.

Default A little patience never hurt anybody. The popularity of the rotors is a compliment to your good....

business sense. Thanks for bringing them in. I think with all the crisis going on in the world right now, a little wait is not that much of an inconvenience. Don't feel bad. If someone started with a fresh order for Zimmerman's from someone else, it would take twice as long to get there. You do the Forum a service by providing items we really want. Thanks for doing your best.

Default My reply to this...

I posted the original note, and if you go back and read it, the *only* thing I was miffed about, is being told that the rotors had shipped, when in fact, they didn't.
My original post said basically, that I could deal with the delay, and that I had accepted a gift from Ralf for my trouble.

I am OK with this.

Had Ralf explained to me the circumstances, in the few emails that I did send him, the way that it was posted here, I would have never written a post here in the first place.

Thank you Ralf for clearing this up.

I can't condone whomever sent you the note, saying "customer who tells me in an email "disturbing news about TheRaceStore".

Frankly, I don't think it was *that* disturbing, I was simply miffed at not getting correct information.

I am not cancelling my order.

I'm looking forward to these rotors, and I will post an install sequence, and reply back to Ralf directly when my shipment arrives.

Earlier Post
