Pics from the Audi quattro Challenge...
Got this e-mail message. Hopefully, it's okay to share:
***Pics from Audi quattro Challenge***
Yesterday (9-29-01), myself and several other SoCal TT Club members attended the Audi quattro Challenge at the CA Motor Speedway. I really had a blast, and I feel that this event helped to further improve my driving skills. In fact, not to brag, but somehow I actually got the fastest autocross time in our group. Unfortunately, a fellow in an Avant no less from another group beat my time, thus I was deprived of the coveted silver Audi key chain :-(
The event consisted of 4 segments. An autocross, a wet course, accident avoidance, and a fun course with a professional driver (these guys are really good).
The company, venue, program and food were all good. I especially enjoyed meeting Katie from the Owner Communications Dept who did a very nice job putting this together, and is a wonderful person.
Thanks also to Glen aka Ventted and his pretty wife Kerry, who were kind enough to open his home to me during the event. If you're wondering about the pics of the fellows dismantling the black Audi, a stray kitten actually crawled up under the car while the vehicles were parked, and the Audi folks literally had to take the car apart to get the kitten out. The cat was adopted by an attendee, who aptly named it "quattro" (presumably, not capitalized).
There was also a very nice dinner after the event. The dinner was held at the Riverside Art Museum. I also enjoyed the big bucket of Audi car care products that was presented to all attendees. Overall, a very fun event and the price was right (free).
Most of the pics are 800x600, but a few of the track photos are larger format. Sorry that so many pics are similar, but I'll let you decide what you like.
