Yet more TT suspension problems..
The first day of my test drive was exquisite. Having driven a friend's 1996 porsche 993 Turbo S and driven my automobile, the handling characteristics were similar if not better w/ my new setup. I was ecstatic as I have met my desires.
The second day I was unfortunate to drive into a dip which put my suspension to the test. I had noticed and am aware of settling characteristics and I've noticed the suspension ride has softened a bit or has become more "springy".
This has occurred mostly in the rear of the car. Now, there is an annoying rattling in the rear, more present at low speeds over rough roads. Picture an empty trunk w/ heavy tools thrown into it moving about and this is what it sounds like. The rear of my car has become mushy and loose, dominant more so on the right rear axle. There is also a slight squeak faintly heard when free rolling the car in neutral. The sound is faint but I can hear it. I had not performed this suspension modification by myself as I needed help w/ the front 25mm sway bar install. I had a qualified tech help me and confirm the install was done correctly. Any have an idea to the problem?
The settling is not the issue. It's not a creaking sound made by the springs, it's a "something is loose or broken" rattling sound in the rear.
Thanks.
Contact Steve from H&R on Monday and talk to him. His number is +1 (888) 827-8881 He will be able to help out.
You can also check to see if one of the springs popped off a perch even slightly. I know you said it is not your springs, but it most likely is the problem.
I adjusted my neg. rear camber to .05 deg, as this was my preference.
I bought the H&R kit in June-July '01.
