<center><img src="http://personal.inet.fi/surf/photos/Oulu/images/teaser.jpg"></center><p>As some of you might remember, I use Photopoint for sharing my online photos. I've been thinking about setting up my own photo gallery somewhere else because most major photo servers, including Photopoint, are a bit slow for my Finnish friends, have more or less stupid or too complicated user interfaces, questionable copyright policies for stored photos, annual fees etc. So I'm charting and testing my other available options at the moment.

My current ISP has some server space allocated for me and I was hoping you could try if it's fast enough for comfortable use. I'm suspecting it might be too slow for most of you but I'd really appreciate hearing your comments about the speed. It would also be interesting to see if there's a big performance difference between east coast and west coast downloads.

I've uploaded a couple of largish photos, so if you could try downloading one or two of them and give a quick comment on the download speed. Don't pay any attention to the photos themselves, they're just snapshots from Sunday morning walk.

If you have problems seeing the linked photo on this page, then the Finnish server is definitely too slow for my needs.

I'm on a DSL line and they snap right in...less than a second to load. Keep up the beautiful work!

Very fast here in Boston using DSL....

 

they are loading up fine here in S. Florida. (Cable Modem)

 

And I like the thumbnail interface. Beautiful photos as always, the one of the leaves is just gorgeous!

Good speed here on the West Coast. Over my cable modem it was maybe 3 seconds per picture.
