New track/brakes info...
Anyone who thinks you must have the Stoptech/Movit/blah blah big brakes to have a successful track day is wrong. The problem with the brakes on the TT is not that they're too small, its that nobody made a good brake pad for them. My last track day I used Mintex C-Tech pads, 3 laps and they're fading fast. This time I had a set of Carbotech Panther Plus pads made up. Beautiful.
Run as long as you want, they won't fade. Was braking at the 2nd marker most of the time and standing it on it's nose. No probelms. The brakes were so hot that the formerly gray paint on the calipers is now brownish-black and peeling. Using Ate Super Blue fluid, no boil, great success.
Pads are around $150 for the fronts and $125 for the rears (I think, don't remember exactly). I had to send in a set of my old pads so they could scrape them to the backing plates (just for the fronts, they had the plates for the rears).
Should be able to get 3 or 4 more days out of the pads, too...
