Default Picked up the '02 TT on Sat....(yahoo!!!)....and now need some advice from the gallery......

I love the car.....but I've got a few issues....

(1)I didn't get the forged wheels because of the re-arragement of the premium package(not too big of a deal).

(2)The switch to disarm the interior motion sensor doesn't appear to work (doesn't light up or do anything else for that matter). Has anyone had this problem? I can deal until the first scheduled service....

(3)I've got the Invica shield full kit at home waiting for a nice weekend to get put on...but I need some other protection related stuff. Can anyone give any advice about floor mats, like the Audi rubber mats from Clair (http://www.clairparts.com/) or the Lltek mats (http://www.lltek.com/mats.htm).

I'm also thinking about getting the mudflaps from Clairparts. Does anyone have a pic of their TT with them on? Do they do any good? Are they worth it?

Default A few items of reply.

2. The motion sensor has been permanately disabled on mid-year 2001 model TT's.
This is then not a serviceable item.

Rubber mats are very good. Some people had to return them though, after some of the ribs on the mat broke down. Mine are fine.

I have the mud flaps also. They aren't the greatest. They work, but only to a point.
They do not keep slop of the sides of the car.
Below is a link to the install process, and some pics.

The Audi rubber mats from Clairparts are great.

Default Re: motion sensor...driver's door needs to be open to arm, although I think Audi

disabled the sensor completely mid-2001. Either mats are a good choice.

Don't wait to long to put the invinca-shield on. I did and now I'm not going to...the front end needs repair before I do and since I don't drive oTTo in winter...I'm not going to bother.

Default Why would they disable the sensor and not remove the button??

I'm not disagreeing with you....it just seems a little cheesy.....

Default Do you mean you see the pictogram on the center button?

If you do, then open up the center console the plug is in the wiring harness. At least it is on the '01 225TTR. No button to plug it into, but the wire/plug are there.

You can try and see if that is the problem. Does not guarantee it will work . . . but you never know.

Default Too much money to redesign console? Who knows.

Try it with the driver's door open. If it doesn't work...you now have decoration.

Your interior sensor is probably disabled as well. Earlier models had a high degree of false alarms from the sensor which is why Audi disabled in later ones. Mine suffers from that. I actually manually disable the sensor everytime I park my car at night so I don't get woken up at 3 a.m. by it.

Does it come with a factory carpet floor mat like A4 and others?
