Default ARGGH! 01 TTRQ doesn't qualify for quattro Club Events

There is a new rule this year called the broom handle rule. With the helmet on, there must be 2" clearance between the top of the helmet and a broom handle running from the top of the roll bar to the top of the windshield.

Mine measured at 1.25". (And I dont need any silly comments!!)

Someone mentioned that there may be a bolt on assemebly that will extend the roll bar.

Any ideas?

That really stinks about the new rule. Could you be exempt from this by using the factory hardtop on the track, or is that not solid enough?

BTW, it was nice meeting you on the drive today. Thanks for coming out

Default Re: It's worse than that. The upcomming quattro events at

Willow Springs and laguna Seca are put on by Speed trial USA. Their requirement for convertibles is a SCCA approved roll bar. No stock roll bars allowed. See link

http://www.speedtrialusa.com/drifting.htm</a

Default I assume you have done this, but check with the actual person

running the event. In Minnesota, the rule changes at each event depending on who the person is running the event. Sometimes it's the broom stick rule, sometimes not. Sometimes it's tops up, sometimes not. I have a coupe, but when the broom stick rule is in effect, roadsters typically don't show up. I have not seen a fix.

Default That's why I couldn't attend the Summmit Point event. Did you try putting the seat..

....as low as it will go and really slouching when the measurement is taken? Seriously....
