IMO, Jacques kicked @ss and most of what went wrong was out of his hands. He got the job b/c Trotman
(who I thought was great) couldn't change the company enough. The culture resists, the family cries and junior gets the job?

Tire/Exploder bust aside...what did the man accomplish?
As "change agent" he devoted the Company to e-retail and services while going bust on fundamental products...namely, Ford cars. Ford had overtaken GM when JN came aboard and has since steadily lost market share during the entire course of his tenure.

Market share doesn't mean cr@p. I think he did a good job internationally & a hell of good job
convincing people to plunk $50k down for a lincoln with cat on the hood called a Jaguar. Volvo has also been a smashing success for them, regardless of what I think about their products. The Escape has also been a success, before Nasser took over, Ford said 'we don't see a large market for a compact SUV.' When they finally did it, they were actually able to do it without cannibalizing the Explorer.
At the end of the day, they've been losing their lunch since they used to have HUGE margins on the Explorer, Expedition, etc. Now that the Japanese are very competitive, the margins aren't anywhere close to what they used to be. Yeah, they lost market share, but there never used to be any competition.
I get tempted every time I see their stock dip, but then kick myself in the *** because of the above.
