Automatic Car washes

So whats all the fuss about not going through an automatic car wash ???? It's still a car, ISN'T IT ???

wheels are low profile, and subject to "curbing" on auto washes

The antenna on the roof is also subject to getting a bit boffo'd (something happened to mine w/ the previous owner, and I assume that's what it was.) FYI to do work on it they have to drop the headliner, etc.
Other than that just the note in the Manual that it's not recommended...perhaps the quattro figures in there somehow too.
Feel free to try it & let us know how well/bad it went

SWIRL CITY- they don't do a good job, end up rubbing dirt into the paint, the attendants don't

care if they rub dirt into your paint, and they don't use cotton towels, which means you have 'SWIRL CITY'.

And the product they use - UGH!

Enough said?

Not just a car to me but a piece of art.

plus all the other regular stuff...wheels and paint getting scratched, harsh detergents stripping wax with the possibility of permenetly staining the paint with improper mixing. All these negatives plus the car never gets really clean.
