Bad batch of APR modules? Recall?

I had my 180Q TT chipped about a month ago by a reputable APR dealer and that same night my ecu started bugging out. Car wouldn't start(no "check engine" light). The car sat overnight and started up the next day with no problems. The dealer provided very good service by coming down and picking up the car to re-solder and re-map the ecu. The car ran like a champ for about a month up until this morning where the car died while coming to a stop. I tried resetting the battery terminal and everything but the "check engine" light only comes on for a couple seconds before blinking out. I can start it for a few seconds but then it dies out quickly again and again. I don't know what the deal is but I'm not happy.

I love the extra power and all but not at the cost of reliability. I've been told that APR is recalling all chips(that were installed around the same time mine was done) because of a bad module. Anyone have any more info on this? Thanks.

Don't know about APR, but my GIAC chip killed my car also.

Wonder if Garrett Lim checks these forums..

because I think it has f'd up my car too. Guess he doesn't give a rats a$$ about us.

I know he has posted on the S4 forum before. So, I assume he is familiar w/the TT forum too.

There is no recall on any modules...

In a recent batch of modues, there were a limited number of modules that were found to have issues that were traced back to the board assembler. This batch of modules has been processed and quality checked since the faults were found and most never made it out the door. We have since instituted further integrity checks on all modules to reduce the potential for failures.

We have found the EMCS modules to have an exceptionally good reliability rating over their 18 month production history. Any rare problems that are encountered will gladly be handled by APR directly or one of our distributors under our standard warranty policy.
