Regarding Diverter Valves....

#1.) Will installing an aftermarket DV void my warranty ??
#2.) Which one is best: Bailey Motorsports, Stratmoshere, or ........
#3.) How easy is a self-install (I'm pretty car savvy)

#1)Technically, yes #2)Personal Preference #3) Very EZ (and I'm not mechanically savvy) more details

#1) An aftermarket DV will void any warranty that has anything to do directly with the DV, if the dealer can prove that the aftermarket DV caused the failure (turbo, engine, etc..) then you are out of luck. Depending on the dealer, but many will blame an aftermarket part for ANY failure.

#2) I think ANY aftermarket DV is better than the OEM. I have the FORGE from Stratmosphere as that was the most recommended here when I was in the market for one.

#3) Install is easy. The most difficult part is removing the factory straps that keep the hoses in place. I recommend using a dremmel tool and just cut them off(thanks to Evan for doing my DV).

1) Officially, <b>yes</b>, they do void your engine warranty. In reality, "maybe," it depends what goes wrong where in your engine and if your dealer and/or AoA decide to go by the book.

2) The Bailey/Forge issue seems pretty evenly split.

3) Installation is pretty easy, probably 30 minutes to an hour (the hardest part is getting the OEM single-use clamps off)

AoA new policy is to void at their descretion if car has any non-Audi parts. Be cool to your dealer.

About right, except the DV wouldn't normally increase performance unless the OEM valve were failing

The sad part about this is that the OEM DVs are notorious for failing. They are plastic POS and a very low-quality part. A TT deserves better.

Also, none of this will necessarily void your warranty - it all depends on your dealer. Technically, AoA can void your warranty if you switch to non-OEM wiper blades.
