Default Who has the Cliff notes for newbies on DV valves and...

1. What they do.
2. How you know when yours is not working.
3. Why TT owners should change to Forge or similar brands.

1. Allows boost pressure to be vented, not sent to engine, when not needed.

2. Honking sound from engine, esp above 3000 rpm under acceleration. Usually there's a noticeable lost of power at 3000+ as well. If you have a new TT, you have a revision N valve, and these seem to be holding up pretty well.

3. Forge will make acceleration smoother, taking away a lot of the surge you get from the OEM valve. Chipped engines (by consensus though there is no hard data I know of) should probably have the best valve you can get -- which is unfortunately not the OEM valve.

Default actually #1 is incorrect . . . that would be a blow-off valve you described . .

A DV is what the name implies, a Diverter Valve. It diverts air back into the turbo to keep it spooled up and try and lessen turbo lag.

Default OK, to sum up ... if I want more zoom, I should swap out the

OEM diverter for a high-tech aftermarket part, and get a new chip. The new chip (please provide guidance here) will increase performance through an altered air/fuel mixture, turbo boost control, and no limit on mph. Is that close to accurate? Thanks for the guidance!

Default no and yes . . .

the DV does NOT give you more zoom, it will only allow what you already have to be used properly.

The chip pretty much does what you said.
