Default water in passenger foot area after parked overnight in torrential rain.....

Rained really hard in CA a few days ago it. I had maybe a half cup of water accumulate in the passenger foot area dripping from just shy of the firewall. I'm sure there is a hole for the wire harness coming through above but wondered if anyone else has had this and what they determined, if possibly just too much water for the drain that exists.

Default I have that open area too and I think it may be a cavity vent though plugged....

during undercoating so undercoating did not clog it unintentionally. Since my car was parked and accumulated some water that hole is not related. Thanks anyway.

Default John, since it was more than likely really humid as well, were you using your a/c alot?

There has been several TT's that exp. plugged condensate drains. Just a thought.

Default I've looked at the hepa filter comp. cover with great suspicion, wondering where the rain

would go in a situation like your's, ie: parked in a heavy rain. Would have to take the filter out to see past it is all.

sort of what I was thinking as it's the exact spot. It's base may not be that well sealed.

Or it probably uses the condensate drain as well, which likely isn't that large

Default 24 is called a drain valve, can't make out where it goes though. It sure doesn't look like the

condensate drain could be where rain water would go either.

Default I'm thinking water flooded the compartment and just went where it could since could not drain fast.

I'm sure there is just a 1/4 inch drain with a hose for the ecu compartment and when it fills with water probably hit the wiring harness entry grommet/hole which may be on a horizontal panel as I noticed in a race prepped A4.
