Default Thanks MD/VA TTers!

It was great to see you all again! We're hoping we'll be back up for New Years!!

Michael & Ellen, thanks for your usual hospitality.

Dave B. that's an awesome set up you have in your TT. I'm lovin' it!

Brian, thanks for allowing me to win a few games of pool. ;-) If you're ever in NC, just give me some warning, I want to be sure my sister locks up her wiener dog! :-D

Default Great drive! Set cruise to 80mph and zoned out for 3.5 hours. ;-)

She slept most of the way. No cops at all. We left early enough to miss most of the traffic.

Default Great to see you two (four) again!

I have to admit, though, that Shay made her displeasure at the two extra furry friends in the house known to us in the middle of the night last night. Oh, well .... Sami was a hoot this morning: Skulking around behind big sister Shay throughout the house this morning.... Had to make sure there were none of them thar dawgs in the house!

I didn't join the folks at the Quattro event today, nor brunch with Brian, Rahul, and MTT, unfortunately. Spent most of the day with my computer and XP. Now if I could just figure out why my machine won't boot with my USB hub plugged in (this was causing problems before the reformat as well).

Default Sorry to say, but this is the reason I like to start fresh when installing an OS

That's why I have three hard drives. ;-)

Default But the point was that I did start fresh .... formatted the drive and it made no difference.

Maybe the USB hub is bad .... Who knows.... I'll play around with it again tomorrow.

Default Ok, I'm stumped. :-(

It does sound like a hardware problem. That's what my WinXP installation problem was on my laptop. My DVD drive was out of alignment. IBM sent me a new one and voila! back in business.

Good luck!!

Default Yep, did that. No conflicts. Everything works fine, but ....

the computer will not shut down nor boot (won't even reach the memory check point) if the USB hub is plugged in. As long as I unplug it before I shut down and don't plug it in until fully booted, it's fine. I'll probably uninstall all of my USB stuff and reinstall. I have a different hub I can try as well. This didn't work before the upgrade to XP either. Just something that started about a week ago out of the blue. (No recent software installs prior to the problem.)
