Man....What is that horrible noise?

Gah...It's been so long since I had heard the awful sound of modem negotiation. AT&T says service will be restored within 14 days...I'm thinking this will be the longest 14 days of my life!

I read in our paper, the Oregonian, that Portland was one of the first regions restored Saturday AM.

ATT could not have made it easier. Here's hoping you don't have to suffer dialup for too long.

Feel fortunate. We don't have ANY form of broadband available here. Modem is our only connection. I know people in the boonies that have DSL; we're in the capital and have $hit.
I bought a dsl/cable router/switch w/802.11b a few months ago just waiting for the day. Wireless is cool . . .

I dunno...Going back to dialup after a year of broadband is pretty bad. :)

I figured once we got broadband here in South Bend, IN, everyone would have it. Where in the world are you that you can't get anything? I think we finally have DSL available in limited areas, and I was pretty sure that would never happen.

our dsl was down 8 weeks (grr)

a neat 3com modem/10-100base t card let me use an old laptop running windoze with connection sharing - plugged it into my hub - sans dsl line - and still had wireless althought slooowww..

DSL is back yipee..

satellite is one option for you, $$$
